El Cajon Youth Center Ultimately, the vision for these children in El Cajon is to have a full-time youth center in a building dedicated to that purpose. JCR would staff and maintain a daily facility that would provide after school and weekend care that would extend well into the evenings as an alternative to the street. It would be a safe place to come and do homework, have meals, play, and connect with other kids in healthy, positive ways. With good mentoring, role models, and the tools they need to succeed in school, these children can have a chance in life. Obviously, we need the resources to lease or buy space for the youth center. We're looking to get the space and build this dream for the kids as soon as possible. Whether it's a patient process of accumulating funding or a sudden miracle, we're on it.
