Food for Kids: Random Shots
Here are some random shots of the women of the colonias preparing food, kids eating it, people bringing it. Slices of life in the Food for Kids program.
This is Chuy Badial, who's been managing our dining room in Colonia Panamericana for almost 20 years. Handmade tortillas are a staple and absolutely wonderful.
Toast on the grill.
Awaiting...
Faces and food.
Here's a cache of food in the foyer of Christian Mission Church in Laguna Niguel, CA just before loading.
Get back to work, Tony. That's Tony Lemonds of Laguna Hills, CA.
Don DeCicco of Mission Viejo, CA and Bob Collela of Foothill Ranch, CA loading.
Unloading at Rosenda's dining room a youth Group from El Toro Baptist Church in El Toro, CA. In the orange cap is Steve Simmons, the youth pastor from the church.
The chaingang from Cornerstone Church in San Clemente, CA bringing food into Rosenda's dining room.
Gene Spann, one of our board members bringing in the Jif at Rosenda's.
Beautiful faces delivering breakfast to be.
Now, that's what I'm talking about.
The inside of Chuy's dining room filling up. Note the shelves getting stocked.
Pancake mix--another staple.
And don't forget the raisins.
Even the dogs that run loose on the street aren't forgotten by some. Here, Mike Griffin of San Juan Capistrano makes sure the dog biscuits are edible.
From inside the van out, Norm and Ron Shrout of Laguna Hills, CA unload.
And unload.
And unload. Equal opportunity here--everyone is welcome to carry.
The after shot at Chuy's--food for another month.
The drive home. Good to be in dad's arms.
Lights out.
