Direct Scholarship Aid
Children of The Americas provides direct educational aid to children who are actively registered in school. This aid comes in the form of school uniforms and school supplies as well as funding of specific needs such as books and fees. Additionally in Mexico, children of the mother-volunteers who serve breakfast in our Nutrition Centers and who have demonstrated their scholastic abilities--and tenacity--by maintaining passing grades, are eligible for a scholarship.

In Guatemala, we've also been providing scholarship help to a small number of Indigena children from San Antonio Aguas Calientes, just outside of Antigua. In the United States, we provide small grants to individual children or to school or after-school programs, usually in the inner-city or in poor rural areas, that are trying to help children succeed in school. As funds become available and as we encounter children who can continue to grow in a school setting, we will expand scholarship help.

If you're interested in becoming a scholarship sponsor please consider committing to regular monthly support or consider the 12 Month Pledge as a start. In this way, we are able to tell a prospective child that funds will be available during an entire school year. Currently, we spend about $6,000 a year more than we receive in scholarship funding, so your generosity will help to ensure that we can continue to offer this help to the children.
