Food for Kids
Every morning, children gather outside the community center in Zona Norte, Tijuana to get a nutritious breakfast and have an opportunity to learn and develop their skills. This community center offers resources that represent real hope – and support – in the lives of children struggling to find their place in the sun. The community center team, led by Maya Durkin, offer nutritional meals that may include milk and fruit. Or hot cereal. Or bread with beans. Or tortillas and cheese. Too often, this may be the one full meal the kids get each day.
After a meal and discipleship, we lead the children to pray for all who help feed them and then engaged them in learning and development. Can you help? We always need food to serve both children and people who drop into our community center in Tijuana. Will you organize your faith community to collect and deliver food to support the Community Center in Zona Norte? Together we can be a source of hope by providing nutritional support that allows the children to engage in education and learning, as well as begin to discover a road to a better life.
